Over the week end there was a quiz about the village in order to encourage both visitors and residents alike to make a voyage of discovery about our culture and history.
The teams consisted of the French guests together with their respective English hosts.
In the photo above some of the lady visitors take time to compare notes.
The Quiz included of a number of pictures taken in the village with a specific question about each picture. The participants took part in a “Treasure Hunt” to find the answers, most of which could be answered once the place of the picture has been located. Some answers, however, could only be found by reading about our history or even visiting our website.
As well as the welcoming decorations, some of the Shops and Business also displayed some artefact or object which was identified by a Tricolour Ribbon. The participants had to find and accurately describe the object.
On-route a few of the Village Gardens were open to the visitors. Any proceeds from the garden visits were donated to the local Air Ambulance.
The answers to the Quiz were revealed on the Monday morning prior to departure and a special prize was awarded to the winning French guests.
