The Goring & District Twinning Association covers both Goring and Streatley as well as the surrounding District.

Anybody living in this area is automatically a Member of the Twinning Association. This equally applies to any local businesses or organisations.

The Twinning Association encouraged all the community to be involved in the 30th Anniversary celebrations.

There were over 100 visitors attending our celebrations, amongst these were:

• French and German Guests
   
• Various Dignitaries
   
• Past Twinning Members who are no longer live in the locality

There were also all the Hosting Families. So there were some 250 people participating in the main events.

If you were not one of the above, there were still a number additional activities for you to enjoy:

• The local History and Photographic Exhibitions in the Free Church Hall
   
• All the Local Shops and Pubs  displayed a welcome to our visitors.
   
• Spot the Mystery Objects on display in the shop windows (Clue: tricolour ribbon)
   
• The History Display in Goring Library
• The Library also ran a Children’s Picture Colouring Competition
   
• The Flower Basket Displays on the High Street and Bridge was brought forward for this occasion
   
• Church Service in St Mary’s Streatley with the Goring Chamber Choir (Sunday)
